NEW YORK U.S. ferrous scrap export prices dropped this past week after exporters failed to log any meaningful bulk or containerized scrap sales.
East Coast sources said Turkey did not pick up a single bulk cargo from the United States this past week, while at least two West Coast exporters confirmed there had been no bulk sales.
The lack of buying interest took its toll on shippers of containerized scrap, as East Coast exporters reported drops of $10 to $15 per tonne on the few containers that did sell to India. West Coast exporters said prices dropped at least $5 per tonne for the minimal container volumes sold to Taiwan ex-Long Beach.....
