CHICAGO — Industrial supply company Alamo Iron Works has acquired the assets of SGS Industrial Supplies Inc., which distributes steel and industrial products in Texas’ Rio Grande Valley.
San Antonio-based Alamo, which was acquired two years ago by Belmont, N.C.-based Industrial Distribution Group (IDG), has served customers in south Texas for more than 80 years and was a direct rival with SGS, which has served the market for 60....
