CIT dismisses steel mills' duties appeal

NEW YORK The U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT) has dismissed an appeal by a number of domestic steelmakers trying to overturn an International Trade Commission (ITC) decision to revoke anti-dumping duties on imports of hot-rolled steel from Brazil and Japan.
ArcelorMittal USA LLC, Nucor Corp. and U.S. Steel Corp. filed the appeal after the ITC decided that removing the duties likely would not lead to material injury to the domestic industry (amm.com, May 19, 2011). The three steelmakers claimed that the final sunset determination to revoke the duties was "not supported by substantial evidence and otherwise not in accord....
