Alpha plans to reduce coal output, overhead

NEW YORK Alpha Natural Resources Inc. expects its output to be reduced by some 16 million tons by early 2013 due to mine idlings and other production curtailments.
The company also plans to reduce overhead costs by $150 million by streamlining operations, including consolidating into two operating regions from the existing four, it said Tuesday.....
