Moly outlook tepid: Thompson Creek

NEW YORK — Thompson Creek Metals Co. Inc.’s recent decision to suspend stripping at its Thompson Creek Mine in Colorado was partly due to a tepid outlook for molybdenum prices caused by global economic challenges.

"Primarily, it had to do with what we see as a weakening—or at best, not-improving—economic environment, which then has its concomitant effect on the moly price," chairman and chief executive officer Kevin Loughrey said in a conference call discussing the decision.....
