NAS, AK set to hike stainless base prices

NEW YORK North American Stainless Inc. (NAS) has led off a stainless base price hike, raising tags for 200-, 300- and 430-series cold-rolled products by reducing functional discounts by two percentage points effective with shipments Aug. 1.
Ghent, Ky.-based NAS is also raising 200- and 300-series hot-rolled products by $80 per ton and lowering its polish discount by 10 percent.
