Evraz NA Regina layoffs seen less likely

NEW YORK Evraz Inc. North America has managed to get some rail cars for outbound shipments from its tubular mill in Regina, Saskatchewan, making a potential temporary layoff of more than 400 workers there less likely, according to a local union representative.
"We had a conference call last night with (the company), and theyre getting rail cars right now. Theyre fairly comfortable right now that there wont be a layoff on (Jan. 20), but it still depends on them getting more cars," a spokesman for the United Steelworkers union told AMM, adding that this was a "marked improvement" from a few days....
