Steel beam imports set to rise in May

LOS ANGELES Steel beam imports in the first two weeks of May are on pace to equal or exceed those for all of April as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is returning after a four-month absence.
Import license applications for wide-flange and standard beams totaled 25,219 tonnes through May 13, nearly 65 percent of the 38,942 tonnes for all of April, data from the U.S. Commerce Departments Enforcement and Compliance division show.....
