FeV prices confuse; moly may be softening

NEW YORK — Ferrovanadium producers remain flummoxed by reports of low spot prices amid strong demand, while molybdenum prices have begun to show signs of softening.

Ferrovanadium is unchanged at $13 to $13.50 per pound, although reports of spot business being conducted well above and below this range have persisted.

Producer sources said that some traders may be trying to influence published pricing by selling at lower levels, insisting that domestic supply remains tight while major suppliers focus on servicing contract business.....
