SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Kennecott Utah Copper’s Bingham Canyon Mine suffered a massive wall slide on April 10 that is expected to halve the unit’s copper production this year. American Metal Market’s special correspondent Andrea Hotter ventured to the site this past week to find out what the company, a division of Rio Tinto Plc, is doing to resolve the issue, how long repair work might take and what the U.S. copper major’s interim plans will be (please click here).
