PITTSBURGH — A national auto recycler is seeking permission to establish a larger presence in Louisville, Ky.

Copart Inc. is seeking a conditional-use permit from the Louisville Metro Planning Commission to open an auto salvage and processing facility on 57 acres in the city. If approval is granted, the Fairfield, Calif.-based company would relocate from a smaller site in the area.

The auto recycler has more than 150 locations in the United States and Britain.
