NEW YORK — OmniSource Corp. has announced three senior management changes, including a new appointment at its Southeast operation.

The Fort Wayne, Ind.-based subsidiary of Steel Dynamics Inc. said Rich Brady will now serve as executive vice president of its Southeast division. Brady will head both ferrous and nonferrous operations in the region.

Last week, sources familiar with the situation told AMM that the company is in the process of laying off between 40 and 50 workers in the Southeast due to challenging business conditions (amm.com, Nov. 20). The company made no mention of the restructuring in Wednesday’s statement.

The division’s previous executive vice president, Bob Brewer, joined PSC Metals Inc. as chief executive officer in September (amm.com, Aug. 29).

OmniSource did not specify a direct replacement for Brady’s current role as executive vice president of ferrous commercial, but it did announce the appointment of Jason Redden to a larger role of executive vice president of commercial. Redden will oversee ferrous and nonferrous sales and national accounts sales management starting Dec. 1.

Additionally, Scott Gibble, currently executive vice president for the Midwest, has been given the additional role of managing nonferrous operations, procurement and non-sales-related support functions, the company said.

"Their insightful leadership and valuable experience in the steel and scrap businesses have also contributed and will continue to contribute to our ability to weather the ebbs and flows within the scrap industry."
