Federal Reserve Bank appoints Surma

CHICAGO — The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland has appointed two new directors with manufacturing backgrounds.

John P. Surma, chairman and chief executive officer of Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel Corp., has been appointed a director of the bank, and Charles Brown, vice president and secretary of Erlanger, Ky.-based Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America Inc., has been named a director of the bank’s Cincinnati branch.

The Federal Reserve Bank said both appointments were effective Jan. 1.
