Gunderson-Gimsa promotes Arias

LOS ANGELES — Alejandro Arias has been promoted to general manager at Gunderson-Gimsa S de RL de CV, one of Greenbrier Cos.’ two major rail car operations in Mexico.

Arias succeeds Brian LaBorde, who has joined an unidentified U.S. manufacturer outside the transportation industry, according to Lake Oswego, Ore.-based Greenbrier.

Arias, most recently director of quality assurance at Gunderson-Gimsa, previously was director of manufacturing operations at Greenbrier’s other major Mexican rail car facility, Gunderson Concarril SA de CV in Hidalgo state.

Gunderson-Gimsa, a joint venture with Grupo Industrial Monclova SA de CV of Mexico, has three production lines manufacturing tank cars and covered hopper cars in Coahuila state.
