PITTSBURGH — Dale’s Recycling is working to expand its scrapyard in McKenzie, Tenn.

The Milan, Tenn.-based company has purchased a vacant manufacturing facility nearly adjacent to its existing McKenzie yard and has started to demolish some structures on the 8.4-acre site.

Owner Dale Nelson plans to use the main structure on the recently bought site for indoor processing. The new location also offers rail access.

In addition, the company is also working to secure a two-acre parcel situated between the yard and the expansion site, Nelson said. The McKenzie yard will cover 35 acres once Nelson acquires this piece.

The McKenzie facility currently bales, shears, shreds aluminum and decommissions vehicles.

The company has a third facility in Jackson, Tenn.
