LONDON CanAm Coal Corp. reported consolidated coal sales of 167,426 tons in the second quarter, the best results in the companys history.
That represented a roughly 13-percent increase from the first quarter and was 28.3 percent higher year on year, the Calgary, Alberta-based company said July 16.
For the first six months of the year, sales volumes of 316,879 tons rose 27.9 percent from 247,709 tons in the same period last year.
A record of some 61,000 tons of coal were sold in June, which the company believes is an indicator of future results.
