PITTSBURGH — Allen Enterprises & Recycling LLC filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy liquidation in federal court July 31, the same day that its property owner was formally charged by the state Attorney General’s office on two charges of unlawful conduct stemming from a May arrest.

Rodney F. Allen, 63, faces a preliminary hearing Sept. 12 before Magisterial District Judge Ronald J. Haggerty Jr. Company president Linda Allen was not charged.

The Connellsville, Pa.-based recycler listed assets of less than $50,000 and liabilities of between $100,000 and $500,000.

The attorney general’s office refused to comment further.

Neither the company nor the Allens responded to a request for comment.
