PITTSBURGH PSC Metals Inc. is expanding its St. Charles, Mo., scrapyard and adding services to generate another source of shredder feed and maximize the facilitys potential.
"We are expanding an existing location, which is a nonferrous buying center, and will buy all grades of material," PSC Metals president and chief executive office Bob Brewer said. "This business has grown so much and we plan to serve the entire St. Charles community."
The Mayfield Heights, Ohio-based chain of scrapyards received approval from the St. Charles Planning and Zoning Commission to expand the facility by taking over the entire 3.13-acre parcel, which also was being used by another tenant.
Plans include paving the entire property, installing a 73-foot truck scale and bringing the site up to city code, according to a spokeswoman in the planning office, who added that work is expected to start immediately.
A crane will be used at the property, but trucks that deliver material to a shredder will be stored at another location.
