NLMK USA increases steel sheet prices

NEW YORK — NLMK USA LLC has raised flat-rolled steel product prices effective immediately, it said in a Dec. 23 letter to customers.

The Portage, Ind.-based steelmaker set minimum base prices on hot-rolled coil at $35 per hundredweight ($700 per ton), while cold-rolled and coated steel were put at $40.50 per cwt ($810 per ton).

In addition, prices for specialty steels, including all high-carbon and alloy products, were increased by $25 per ton.

Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel Corp. raised its steel sheet prices by $20 per ton ($1 per cwt) Dec. 16 (amm.com, Dec. 16).
